Coz-Hill and See COZ, Page 4A Working holiday Some employees headed to work on Labor Day Burglary, drug bust in Earlimart Deputies made two busts over the weekend resulting in an arrest in connection with drugs and another related to a burglary. Deputies investigating a burglary last week in Earlimart were led to a Tulare County pawn shop for a report of stolen items being pawned.

Deputies linked the stolen items to an burglary where more than $1,200 in electronics were stolen. Two days after the stolen items were found, deputies arrested Jesse Medrano, 39, of Earlimart. He was booked at the Main Jail in Visalia on burglary charges. In an unrelated case, deputies arrested Ismael Aguilar, 37, of Earlimart. Aguilar is accused of selling metham-phetamine in the area of Lane Road and School Avenue in Earlimart.

Deputies say they saw Aguilar selling the drugs and arrested him at the scene late Friday night. Lottery scams hit Visalia again Visalia police are warning the public about a lottery scam that reportedly has people pretending to be police officers calling potential victims. Detectives said the department has received several reports from people who said they received calls telling them they had won lottery prizes, but in order to receive money, they first would have to pay taxes on their winnings. Some of the people said they later received calls from people claiming to be police officers who told them the prize operation was legitimate and that they should pay the money. "The Visalia Police Department cautions all citizens who receive unsolicited phone calls to not supply personal information or send money for prizes to be submitted at a later time," Sgt.

Amy Watkins of the department's Property Crimes Unit, said in a written statement.
