2C Visalia Times Delta LocalState Thursday June 20 2002 resno mayor faces $8 million budget deficit RESNO resno Mayor Alan Autry will be scrambling to find more than $8 million to meet the needs The City Council gave him a budget Tuesday that fell short and now Autry must consider reducing city ser vices jobs and improvement projects He has 10 days to veto the budget or ask the council to reconsider amendments they made to the $671 million pro posal he gave them almost two months ago The budget must be bal anced and approved by Aug 27 The City Council left out proposed increase in utility fees when it approved the budget That would have generated an estimated $65 million in revenue said city controller Ruth Quinto The council also added about $2 million in neighborhood pro
