4A Visalia Times Delta LocalState Tuesday November 13 2001 IN BRIE Kern County law enforcement gets sizable pay raise BAKERSIELD Kern Coun ty law enforcement and emer gency workers would get sizable raises under a plan that supervi sors will consider today In a plan that would cost $12 million through June 2002 county supervisors could vote to hike the pay of dozens of detention officers dispatchers evidence technicians and some investigators by as much as 15 percent County officials have found it hard to fill these ranks because of below market salaries according to Assistant County Administrative Officer Elissa Ladd The increases would put sher and fire department dis patchers on par with other counties Ladd said If approved today the raises for dispatchers would go into effect
