Monday, January 23, 2006 Visalia Times-Delta OBITUARIES Bernard 'Bernie' Ray Sinor ried during a trip to China in 1988. Those who knew were entertained by his spirited sense of humor and fierce love for Sinor life. He and Betty loved to travel Bernard "Bernie" Ray Sinor, born on March 21, 1938 in Phoenix, Ariz. After graduating from San Joaquin Memorial High School in Fresno, he moved to the Bay Area. Soon after he discovered his life long passion for the equipment business.

In 1978 he relocated his family to Visalia to start his own business, Sinor and Sons Equipment Company. Throughout the years he engaged in many business ventures. He was an accredited appraiser and member of the American Society of Appraisers. He earned his pilot's license in 1974 and flying became his second passion. His motto was "work hard." He "played" with the Baja Bush Pilots, scuba diving friends, and yearly trips to Catalina with Los Caballeros, and could be found frequently at the Visalia Airport with his many friends.

He met his wife, Betty, through a mutual friend. They were mar- Bernard Bernard Sinor and traveled abroad often. He was an avid golfer and always found a course to play at every destination. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Visalia.

Bernie was a family man in every sense of the word. He openly shared his love for his friends and family. Bernie was joined in death with his wife, Betty Ann Adair Sinor, and their two granddaughters, Jorjanna McKeah Plumlee and Kyndal Crystine Plumlee. Preceding him death was his mother, Orvia Sinor, father, J.D. Sinor, and brother, John Sinor of San Diego.

Bernie is survived by his sister, Donna Westbrook of Visalia; brothers, Rocky and Tim of Oklahoma; his children from his first marriage to Margie Maxwell, Teri LaFleur of Woodlake, John Sinor of Klamath Falls, Mike Sinor of Arroyo Grande, step-children, Krista Plumlee of Brentwood, and Ann Louise Hover of Fresno; six granddaughters, two grandsons and many nieces and nephews. A rosary service will be held 6:30 p.m. today and a memorial service held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, both at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Visalia.

Interment will be for family only. Donations in memorial for Bernie Sinor may be sent to The California Stockmen's Bank, Visalia, in his name. Arrangements are by Miller Memorial Chapel, Visalia. Betty Ann Adair Sinor Betty Ann Adair Sinor died on Jan. 13, 2006.

She was born at Santa Margarita Ranch Hospital, Camp Pendleton USMC Base in Oceanside, Calif. on Nov. 8, 1948. As a "military brat" she adapted well to the frequent moves and was always readily welcomed into her new surroundings. She graduated from Redwood High School in Visalia, where she attained high: academic honors and was selected as head cheerleader.

She received an A.S. degree in Nursing from College of the Sequoias in Visalia, and B.S.N. from Cal State Dominguez Hills College, where she graduated suma cum laude. Betty worked as a registered nurse at Kaweah Delta Hospital in Visalia for nearly 30 years. Her numerous positions included Staff Nurse on 3- South, Clinical Educator, and finally Director Betty Sinor of Nursing and Staff Develop- Betty Sinor ment.

During this time she received the title of Certified Diabetes Educator, the highlight of her professional career. Her colleagues often described her as "very professional," "outstanding nurse" and "qualified and caring in her field." While a nurse, Betty was responsible for the startup of numerous programs. These included the Pediatric Pre-op Program, the California Central Valley Chapter of Diabetes Educators, and the curriculum for the Certified Nurses Continuing Education Program, to name just a few. Betty belonged to the Beta Sigma Phi sorority and attended St. Mary's Catholic Church.

In addition she was a volunteer for the local chapter of the Red Cross and an active member of the American Diabetes Association. She loved to travel with her husband, Bernie, and spent much personal time with family friends. To say that gifted is an understatement. She was charming, gracious and a colorful storyteller. She was joined in death by her husband, Bernie Sinor, and granddaughters, Jorjanna and Kyndal Plumlee.

Betty was preceded in death by her father, Major James T. Adair, USMC Ret. She is survived by her mother, Beverly Adair of Visalia; daughters, Krista 1 Hover Plumlee of Brentwood, and Ann Louise Hover of Fresno, by her first marriage to Ron Hover; her brothers, Thomas Adair of Clovis and James Terry Adair of San Luis Obispo; and her sister, Sue Ann Adair of California; stepchildren, Teri LaFleur of Woodlake, John Sinor of Klamath Falls, Mike Sinor of Arroyo Grande and numerous grandchildren. A rosary service will be held 6:30 p.m. today and a memorial service 10:30 a.m.

Tuesday, both at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Visalia. Interment will be for family only. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the American Diabetes Association, or the American Red Cross, or to the charity of your choice. Additionally, donations in memorial for Betty Sinor may be sent to The California Stockmen's Bank, Visalia, in her name.

Arrangements are by Miller Memorial Chapel, Visalia. Jorjanna McKeah Plumlee studies. She was joined in death by her sister, Kyndal Crystine Plumlee, her grandmother, Betty Ann Sinor, and her grandfather, Bernard Ray Sinor. She is survived Jorjanna McKeah Plumlee died on Jan. 13, 2006.

She was born at Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose on June 2, 1999. She was in the first grade at Krey Elementary School in Brentwood, Calif. Jorji attended the Aim High After School Program. She played t-ball and was active in gymnastics every Saturday. She attended Sunday School at Golden Hills Community Church in Brentwood.

Jorji was known for her magnetic personality and attention to her Jorjanna Plumlee Jorjanna Plumlee by her mother, Krista Hover Plumlee and father, Matt Plumlee, both of Brentwood, Calif; sisters, Jarami and Ashley Plumlee of Tulare; grandparents Carl and Darlene Plumlee of Tulare and Ron Hover of Mae Reno, Buckwalter grandparents, Beverly Adair of Visalia and Fred and Dixie Hover of Visalia; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. A rosary service will be held at 6:30 p.m. today and a memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, both at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Visalia.

Norman Brazil Retired ranch foreman Norman was born on October 24, 1925 to Manuel and Helen Brazil and lived until his death on the land he was born and raised on. Most of his farming career was spent working as a Ranch Foreman for A.F. Correia Farms. Norman loved music, dancing, and enjoyed playing his guitar and banjo; he was a proud veteran, stationed in Germany during the Korean War and a member of the Amvets Post 56.

His parents, Manuel and Helen Brazil, his sister Marjorie's daughter, Donna Robinson, preceded him in death. Norman is survived by his wife of 53 years, Geneva Fernandes Brazil, his sister Marjorie Frigulti, one daughter, Connie Minyard and her husband Gary, all of Goshen. Two granddaughters, Kayla Minyard, a student attending college in Virginia; Amanda Taylor and her husband Ronnie of Visalia; four -grandchildren, Melody, Layla, Maycie and Seth. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes remembrances are made to their favorite charity or to the Hospice of Tulare County, 900 W. Oak Visalia, CA 93291.

Mr. Brazil passed away January 19, 2006. Visitation will be held from 3-8 p.m. Tuesday at Hadley Funeral Chapel. Graveside services will be 11 a.m.

Gloria Jean Silas Cook Gloria Jean Silas, 75, of Porterville died Friday, Jan. 20, 2006. She was a cook. Visitation will be from 2-7 p.m. today at Myers Chapel, Porterville.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Porterville. Robert 'Bob' Tuohy 1953 2006 Robert (Bob) Tuohy, 52, longtime resident of Visalia, passed away suddenly on Sunday evening, Jan. 15, 2006. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:30 a.m.

Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2006, at the Nativity of our Lady Catholic Church, 221 Daly Avenue, San Luis Obispo. Burial will take place immediately following the service at the Old Mission Catholic Cemetery. Bob was born in St. Cloud, Minn.

on Feb. 24, 1953. In 1954, his parents moved the family to San Luis Obispo, where Bob attended local schools, graduating from San Luis Obispo Senior High School in 1971. Following his graduation, Robert Tuohy he worked for a number of local Robert Tuohy companies. In 1975, Bob married Janice Hurt, and they moved their residence to the Central Valley, where Bob spent 25 years of his working career at Waterman's Industries in Exeter, until its closure in 2003.

Over the years, Bob had his own landscaping maintenance service in which his son, Matthew, assisted him. Matthew ultimately developed his own successful landscaping maintenance business. Bob enjoyed raising exotic birds, and recently developed a passion for riding his motorcycle. Bob is survived by his son Matthew, of Visalia, and his former wife, Janice Tuohy, also of Visalia, with whom Bob he is also maintained survived a close friendship. his sister, Bonnie Long and her husband, Michael, of San Luis Obispo; his brother, Michael, and his wife Tracey of Trabuco Canyon, Calif.

and their daughters, Alyssa and Lauren; and his nephew, Brian Tuohy, and his wife Dana, of San Luis Obispo, and their children, Gavin and Bridget; and a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins throughout the U.S. Bob was preceded in death by his father, John Tuohy, on Dec. 22, 2005, and his mother Marge Tuohy in 2003. His family is comforted in believing that Bob is now resting in peace with his mother and father. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charity of their choice.

Olan William Valentine Olan William Valentine, 83, of Exeter died Friday, Jan. 20, 2006. Visitation will be from 1-6 p.m. Thursday at Smith Family Chapel, Exeter. Celebration of life service will be 11 a.m.

Brad Miller Elbert 'Wimp' Wilson Truck driver Elbert Wilson left us on Thursday morning, January 19, 2006 in the place he most wanted to be, home with family. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, friend, and mentor. "Wimp" as he was known to friends and family, was born in Wallville, Wash. to Floyd and Ottie Wilson. At an early age, he moved with his family to California, eventually settling in the Ivanhoe area.

Wimp attended Ivanhoe Elementary School and Visalia Union High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1945 and participated in "Operation Crossroads." "Wimp" returned to California where he met and married his lifelong love, Ramona Robertson. They were married on February 5,1949 in Ivanhoe, Calif. where they lived for their 56 years together.

"Wimp" loved life, family, and friends, and was a Charter Member of the Ivanhoe American Legion Post 473. He was always proud of his family and took pleasure as well as being proud of all accomplishments, no matter how large or small. All who knew him have a special memory to treasure, and keep in their hearts forever. "Wimp" is survived by his wife Ramona Wilson of Ivanhoe, daughters, Sharon Wilson of Montrose, Colo. and Janet Ellis and husband Tim Ellis of Visalia, grandchildren, Sunny Olson and husband Paul, Sarah Ellis and Timothy Ellis; -granddaughter, Ava Olson; brother, Carl Stine of Montrose, uncle, Charles A.
