To fill the box the names of nine talesmen were called yesterday morning, as follows: Beorge Arnold, G. YV. Bauman, J. F. Firebaugh, C.

Fay, YV. Pool, YV. M. Curtis, Charles Meyers, G. YY.

Truitt and G. M. Huffman. Arnold, Firebaugh, Pool, Curtis and Truitt were excused on the ground of actual bias. Bauman was peremptorily challenged by the prosecution, and Fay and Pool were peremptorily challenged by the defense.

This left Meyers and Huffman in the box as accepted jurors. Seven talesmen were called to fill the box and they were as follows: F. U. Purcell, John L. Hazen, Edward Saak, Samuel Whaley, W.

E. Toler, M. F. Parsons and Premo. Hazen, Saak and Prrsons were challenged on the ground of actual bias, and Premo, Toler and Whaley were peremptorily challenged by the defense, and they were excused.

This left Purcell in the box as an accepted juror, making six in all. There remains six more jurors to be obtained in order to complete the full panel. Owing to the death of Judge Grays brother, the court adjourned until Thursday morning at 9 oclock. It is not likely the introduction of evidence will be commenced before Saturday. an ordinance that will control the sa- loon trade by causing them to be clos- 1 ed at 10 oclock every night, and shall remain closed until 6 a.
