Mrs. Pat Hodian of Taurusa will Juniorettes Fete Holiday Season With Yuletide Parties Members of the Juniorettes have enjoyed a series of festive Christmas parties this month, beginning with a formal dance on Saturday, Dec 11. tt The dance was held in the Mirror Room of the Johnson Hotel and was attended by 36 couples, members and friends of the Junior Chamber of Commerce. Mrs. Richard Barman, room representative, told of plans for the Christmas parties to be given in each classroom by the rpom mothers on Tuesday. Mrs. John Vaccaro gave a report on the parent-teacher information course, conducted by Mrs. Marshall Shiffert.

Certificates were awarded to Mesdames Richard Barman, Robert Painter, Ly man Treaster, John Vaccaro, Jack Lane, Charles Smith, James Row-ley, Dale Wimp, Dick Williams and Vernon Mann. Mrs. Erwin Williams reported on the recent council safety meeting, and various safety programs were discussed. A committee was appointed for the honorary life membership award. Included were: Mesdames Don McWilliams, Felix Mattos, Don Williams, Ronald Stubblefield, and Marshall Shiffert.

Refreshments were served by Mesdames Robert Painter, Jack Lane and Ken Royer. Attending were Mesdames Paul Stokes, John Vaccaro, Jack Lane, Richard Barman, Elroy Mills, James Rowley, Lee Cree, John Khachigian, Erwin Williams, Lyman Treaster, Marshall Shiffert and Don McWilliams. Holiday Party Held by Catholic Daughters Group Catholic Daughters of America held their annual Christmas party Monday night at the Catholic Youth Center. The hall was decorated with greenery, candles and a large Christmas tree. A program of entertainment was presented with many of the girls participating.

Mrs. Mary Halstead, accompanied by Mrs. Janice Gardner, sang Santa Is Too Fat. A skit, entitled Just One More was then presented with Mrs. Janice Gardner playing the part of the father, Mrs.

Virginia Leppleman, as mother and Mrs. Elsie Correia, as the son. Two tap dancing numbers, Eliza, and Who, were presented by Mrs. Pat Gorman. A reading, entitled Twinkle was given by Mrs.

Maria Bacigalu-po. Mrs. Dorthea Partridge at the piano accompanied the community singing. Santa Claus was present to give out the exchange gifts, followed by refreshments of persimmon pudding served by the committee in charge. Mrs.

Gardner headed the group, with Mrs. Maria Bacigalupo serving as chairman of the social committee. Others attending were Mesdames Irene Archuleta, Virginia Leppleman, Dorthea Partridge, Maymie Dessel, Louise Etz- Junior Gardeners Meet with Visalia Garden Club Group EXETER Tuesday afternoon the Charter Oak Junior Gardeners made merry at Venice School at the Christmas party arranged for them by members of the Gardenia Garden Club of Visalia. Mrs. Jack Koontz, Gardenia president, Mrs.

Bess Burum and Mrs. Helen Moore, co-leaders of the club, and Mrs. P. K. McCain, past leader, attended the party.

Mrs. Ardeth Fleming sent Christmas cookies. Joyce Harding, president, conducted a short business meeting and gave the plant report which concerned the history and growing habits of mistletoe. Joann and Cheryl Edwards volunteered to bring refreshments for the January meeting and Minnie Harding was appointed January plant chairman. The meting adjourned and the party began with surprises for the sponsoring women.

The Juniors proudly presented handkerchiefs to the Mesdames Koontz, Burum, and Moore; and a plant and Christmas wreath to Mrs. McCain. Each Junior then chose a candy-stick colored package which contained bulbs, candy, and a small figurine. Punch and cookies were served. After the refreshments, the Jun-iiors each made a Christmas ar- General committee chairman for the party was Clark Jones.

In chaige of the buffet table was Mrs. Bud Milton. The room was attractively decorated with a life-sized snowman, a Christmas tree and other appropriate Christmas decorations. The decoration committee included Mrs. Jack Putnam, Fiora Joseph, Clark Jones, George Clark, and Marshall Burkett.

Music was provided the Three Deans orchestra from Tulare. Several novelty dances were introduced during the evening. The annual Christmas party was held on Dec. 17 with a large attendance of Juniorette members. The club room at the Johnson Hotel was decorated for the holiday season and miniature ice cream snowballs were served as refreshments.

Games of canasta were played with prizes going to Mrs. Richard Schroepfer, high, and Ken Wycuff, low. Highlighting the evening was the exchange of gifts and the revealing of secret pals for 1953. Hostesses for the evening were Mrs. Jack Putnam and Mrs.

Flora Joseph. Members attending the event were Mesdames Doc Wittiver, Dave Watkins, Glen Pratt. Don Murray, Richard Huff, Harold Schumann, Ken Wycuff, Clark ANNOUNCES ENGAGEMENT Miss Alice Austin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H.

Engagement APRIL WEDDING PLANNED Miss Joyce Burt and William Duran announced their engagement at a cocktail party at San Jose recently. Mr. Duran is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William F.

Duran of Visalia, and is now a physical education coach at Santa Clara High School. He is also an alumnus of San Jose State College and attended Visalia Junior College and the Visalia High School. While at San Jose Mr. Duran was a member of Delta Theta Omega fraternity. Lloyd R. Gists country home was the setting for the Xi Omicron Chapter, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Christmas party last Friday evening. The home was gaily decorated in the holiday motif.
