VISALIA DAILY TIMES, VISALIA, CALIFORNIA FRIDAY, MAY 8, 1925 WASCO CLUB IN SESSION AT VISALIA Western Auto Managers to Hold Picnic Soon at Three Rivers The Wasco Club, composed of managers and salesmen of the Western Auto Supply Company Taft, Bakersfield, Porterville, Hanford. Dinuba, Fresno and Visalia, met at Motley's last evening for their regular monthly dinner meeting. About twenty-five men made the trip to Visalia from the different stores, to meet and disdifferent problems relative to sales work in their stores, and to exchange ideas which tend to improve the now excellent service rendered patrons of the fast growing organization. A fast, peppy meeting presided over by E.

Killberg, Visalia manager. brought out several good ideas, and it was decided to hold a picnic, taking in the families and friends of the valley stores, numbering perhaps one hundred people In all, to be held Three Rivers, the date to be decided later. Several of the men gave interesting talks on different subjects, company policies, guarantees, etc. E. 0.

Chandler, local manager for the Pacific Telephone Telegraph company, gave a very intereating fifteen minute talk on salesmanship, saying that while in its Feld his company was almost alone as regards competition, there was as much need for salesmanship in that line as in any other, inasmuch as in all sales work, the salesman should first find where he can be of service to the customer either by selling him adequate telephone service to take care of his needs or by giving him better vice than he had received heretofore. particular Throughout stress his talk, upon fact that whatever one sells, be it auto supplies, telephonic service or what not. he must keep one idea uppermost in his mind, the customer must be satisfied. Rather not sell him too much today, keeping his good will and he will come back tomorrow for more. Mr.

Chandler then turned from the serious side and for ten minutes told some very good stories. thoroughly enjoyed by all. E. C. Killberg rendered several vocal selections in his usual pleasing manner, and led the boys in club singing, everyone joining in and making the evening truly one to be remembered by all and compensating them for their long drives to be present.

The meeting closed late, every one looking forward to June 2nd, the date set for the next meeting. Mother--Telegraph her Mothers' Day, May 10th. Postal Telegraph, Hotel Johnson. Oswald's Victor Orchestra farewell appearance Theatre Visalia Sunday. DR.

There the younger set gathered. The midnight rides, drinking and petting sickened and horrified her until she met Normon, a clean, fine young man, whom she truly loved. They weretobe married -then suddenly her dreams of bappinessfaded -her beautiful castles crumbled -andshe was brought to realize what a trail of blasted hopes, bleeding bearts and ruined lives the Demon Jazz leaves in its wake. A startling true-life story that all young people -all fathers and mothers should read. Isabel tells it under the title "The Barrier Between" in June True Story Magazine.
